Man, I am a sucker for waterfalls! On our camping trip a few weekends ago, we took advantage of the recent rains, and targeted some of the lesser-known waterfalls in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Since I had never visited this waterfall before, I didn’t know what to expect. Our hike led us to the edge of a steep canyon with several photogenic waterfalls. After negotiating down the slick granite rocks to the creek, I came to this scene. I did some scouting around trying multiple perspectives, heights, and angles, until I finally settled on this view with a smaller cascade stretching across the bottom third of the composition. This will be a fairly easy edit as it won’t take much color or lighting rework. Right now I am about 25% completed with this image.
